The Humber ports operate 7 days a week giving opportunity and flexibility to working patterns.

WHAT IS THE JOB ROLE OF A PORT OPERATIVE?

Stafforce port operatives support the UK’s supply chain from discharge to distribution.

No two days are the same in shipping and a port operative may cover many different roles which include:

  • Stevedore / Quayside duties
  • Plant driving including Forklift Trucks, Payloaders, Shovels, Tugs and Mobile harbour cranes
  • Weighbridge or Gatehouse
  • Stock counts
  • Industrial cleaning
  • Traffic Marshall and Vehicle banksman
