JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Portable Operations Administrator, the Portables Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and inspecting all portable basketball courts at each stage of the production process. This role also involves collaborating with the Portable Operations Division managers to ensure that portable floor production consistently meets the quality standards established by Praters Inc. and our customers.

SKILLS NEEDED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Able to read a tape measure/ruler competently.
  • Experience in a business work environment with the ability to work in a manufacturing/production office area.
  • 6+ months of experience as a Basketball Flooring or Portables Production Technician - Preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and an eye for attention to detail.
  • Strong people management, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to effectively and efficiently organize and work well on a team, but also have the independence to work individually
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite, Smartsheet, QuickBooks, and other applications.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Must be able to obtain a medical DOT card.
Responsibilities
  • Review the portable operations production schedule to ensure each portable court project is thoroughly planned, with all scopes of work clearly defined. Verify that all information is accurate and complete, and ensure that labor, materials, and equipment are secured well in advance to avoid any delays.
  • Follow up with portable operations managers and supervisors overseeing the production process to ensure any required corrections are promptly addressed and completed.
  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss schedule changes, conflicts, and missing information, following up with action notes to all affected departments.
  • Take detailed notes during weekly meetings and distribute the meeting minutes to all attendees via email.
  • Continuously look for ways to enhance processes and suggest improvements that will boost the performance of the department and the company, including scheduling programs, procedures, administrative tools, and more.
  • Create quality checklists and set tolerances for each process within the portable facilities.
  • Support the portable operations team in developing processes and procedures to prevent quality issues before they arise and to address quality-related problems promptly.
  • Conduct quality checks on all portable courts at each production stage to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming and outgoing portable courts and materials shipping to and from Praters Inc.
  • Assist in developing and implementing proactive processes and procedures to prevent quality issues before they arise.
  • Communicate with the portable operations team about any issues or inconsistencies with portable courts.
  • Communicate with the design department to ensure all stencils and or decals are accurate and available for installation.
  • Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
  • Work closely with the portable operations team to devise timely and effective solutions for addressing time and quality-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with management to organize, monitor, and schedule employee production training.
  • Assist with the orientation and training of new hires in the operations division.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a mentor program.
  • Participate in the company or external educational opportunities offered to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of members within the department.
  • Weekend work and overtime may be required.
  • Conduct themselves as a representative of Praters, Inc. and support Praters, Inc.’s missions and goals.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
