Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

  • Post 1 - 37 hours per week, Mon- Fri
  • Post 2 - 37 hours per week, Mon- Fri
  • Post 3 - 22.12 hours per week, Mon- Fri

The portering department consists of a large team throughout Glasgow Royal Infirmary providing patient care within a very busy hospital setting, tasks include:

  • Transportation of patients throughout the hospital using various methods of equipment (trollies, chairs, beds) covering different needs of patient. Which include going up and down the link corridor.
  • Transportation of dirt/ clean linen which includes the link corridor
  • Transportation of waste throughout the hospital which includes going up and down the link corridor.
  • collecting specimensDelivering urgent bloods

  • All training is provided onsite
    Driving licence is not essential however would be advantageous
    This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
