OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Porter to join our team. The Porter will ensure that common areas, vacant units, and exterior spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors. This position requires an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience:
  • Previous cleaning experience in residential, commercial, or hospitality settings preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment is a plus.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 25 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic communication skills to interact with residents and report to supervisors.
  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Reliable transportation to and from the property.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, if needed.
  • Must pass a background check.
Responsibilities
  • Common Area Cleaning:
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in hallways, lobbies, stairwells, and other shared spaces.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including railings, light fixtures, and signage.
  • Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors to maintain a streak-free appearance.
  • Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste and recyclables.
  • Unit Turnover Cleaning:
  • Perform deep cleaning of vacant apartments, including kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.
  • Sanitize appliances, countertops, sinks, toilets, and showers/bathtubs.
  • Vacuum carpets, mop hard floors, and clean windows and blinds.
  • Ensure units are move-in ready for new tenants.
  • Exterior Maintenance:
  • Sweep walkways, patios, and parking areas to remove debris.
  • Clean outdoor furniture, grills, and recreational areas (e.g., poolside or gym).
  • Assist with litter pickup and landscaping debris removal as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage to the property manager.
  • Follow safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, reporting low inventory to management.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, mops) in good working condition.
  • Resident Interaction:
  • Respond courteously to tenant inquiries or concerns about cleanliness.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while working in occupied areas.
