About the Position As the Portfolio Manager for Meditech Advance and Medical Device Integration, you will lead two mission-critical portfolios that drive innovation and connectivity across our health system. You’ll build, guide, and mentor a high-performing team responsible for delivering complex technical solutions, optimizing workflows, and ensuring seamless integration of clinical systems and medical devices. Meditech Advance Portfolio Spearhead the transition from Client Server to Meditech Expanse, ensuring smooth integration of downstream clinical systems. Manage planning, testing, implementation, and sustainment activities for the integrated downstream clinical systems under the Clinical Ancillary Services team Medical Device Integration Portfolio Enable real-time data flow from physiological monitors and other medical devices into Meditech Expanse and other key clinical applications. Provide technical expertise in architecture, server configuration, mapping, and software build to ensure seamless connectivity and improved clinical decision-making. What We’re Looking For We need a strategic leader with: Strong technical knowledge of healthcare systems and device integration. Proven ability to manage complex projects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders, including clinical and technical teams, and facilitate consensus-driven discussions A passion for leveraging technology to improve patient outcomes. We will be looking for you to have the following: Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Health Information Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related. At least seven (7) years recent related experience with business and systems analysis including PM experience. An asset to this role would be: Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills to drive collaboration across departments. Strong project management and change management capabilities. Experience with or a strong understanding of HL7 integration between clinical systems and Meditech. Familiarity with integration technology such as Microsoft Biztalk. Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate complex organization dynamics. Familiarity of system and security practices. Knowledge of IT infrastructure and Networking in a highly secured environment. Experience with Windows Server troubleshooting and maintenance. Experience with Microsoft SQL (database maintenance, performance measuring, writing ad-hoc queries). Working experience of Web Services, IIS, and Certificates. Familiarity with .NET Framework (C#). Detailed Overview Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health: The Portfolio Manager provides senior level advice and guidance to Fraser Health executives within an assigned portfolio of Informatics which may include the development and implementation of application architecture. Leads and is accountable for enterprise-wide business and clinical information systems projects; manages timelines and resources; develops project budgets provides leadership to team members and facilitates service design, transition and operations management strategies. Coordinates the work of and supervises assigned staff. Coordinates the procurement and management of external services and devises strategies to ensure long term and maximum utilization of information and technologies. Provides direct supervision to assigned staff. Responsibilities Provides senior level advice and guidance by consulting to all disciplines and stakeholders within an assigned portfolio by keeping abreast of the initiatives and issues within the business areas assigned and conducts strategic planning in the development of business cases, and process re-engineering initiatives. Provides project leadership to a variety of large, complex projects including a number of diverse disciplines and/or affecting multiple stakeholders; develops and manages project timelines; facilitates change management strategies; defines tasks; identifies, sources and manages resources such as contractors, staff or dollars; identifies and mitigates project related risks; provides guidance and direction to team members. Ensures project closure by providing post-implementation evaluation; measuring key outcomes, assessing project related staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, obtaining project sign off, and documenting lessons learned. Ensures that projects and initiatives are aligned with the Fraser Health strategic plan. Manages assigned staff by selecting, supervising, and evaluating staff; assigns, evaluates and monitors work assignments; disciplines staff as necessary and initiates terminations; assesses and recommends staffing requirements; orients staff; authorize leaves of absences and approves overtime as necessary. Ensures the implementation of correct human resource standards and procedures by interpreting and administering the applicable collective agreements; investigates and responds to grievances of a confidential nature; represents management up to and including Step 3 of the grievance process; attends third party hearing with the representative of the Employer. Provides leadership to staff assigned to lead small to medium scale projects by providing guidance on project management duties, budget management, or technical issues; receives updates from assigned team leaders on project status. Provides input into project budget development and, once approved, manages the budget dollars by approving required contractors, purchasing software and hardware. Monitors and reports on budget variances if necessary and discusses with project sponsor as required. Liaises and communicates with project sponsors and stakeholders by monitoring and reporting on all phases of projects to ensure success and to increase overall quality of products implemented. Provides updates on project status and all aspects of the project as required. Manages assigned projects through the project management lifecycle using standard documentation methodologies such as project charters. Champions project management methodologies and best practices through mentoring, coaching, and communicating with team members, business units and staff. Monitors the level of support to ensure requirements and expectations of the contract(s) are met. Provides input into application development and into the use of new technology for inclusion in the technology architecture. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Health Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related study or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Seven (7) years of related experience in a large complex organization including at least three (3) years' experience as a Project Manager. Experience with health and corporate information systems.
