Description

The task

  • As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for key parts of our strategy and M&A projects, working directly with our partners and clients.
  • In strategy projects, you structure complex issues, develop hypotheses, and combine analyses with interviews and customer workshops. From this, you derive clear courses of action and your own position. You help decision-makers communicate the chosen direction throughout the organization. You navigate confidently through the decision-making processes and dynamics of large companies, translate strategy into clear priorities, and communicate them in a way that people can understand, support, and implement.
  • In M&A projects, you work across the entire cycle: from M&A and PMI strategies and buy-side consulting for insurance companies to sell-side consulting for entrepreneurs selling their brokerage firm or MGA. This involves analyzing companies, markets, and value drivers; developing financial factbooks and business cases; creating or validating EBITDA bridges; and contributing to valuation discussions. You prepare transaction documents such as NDAs, teasers, and CIMs, and support due diligence, negotiation, and closing.
  • On the sell side, you work particularly closely with entrepreneurs and their families. This involves not only the purchase price but also considerations such as their life's work, succession planning, future roles, and the people within the company. You support these decisions with a personal touch and the necessary discretion.
  • You guide interns and associates through their work and act as a role model and trusted contact person.
  • Together with us, you will drive the use of AI in project work and further develop what has proven successful in practice.

Your profile

  • You have several years of professional experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, M&A consulting or in a comparable analytical role.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is welcome. Crucially, you must genuinely want to understand the sector and develop real expertise within it.
  • M&A experience is a plus, but not a requirement. More important are genuine interest, intellectual strength, and a personality that inspires trust even in challenging situations. You'll learn the necessary transaction skills directly on the project.
  • You combine analytical strength with sound judgment. You think carefully, develop your own point of view, and stand up for it.
  • You can independently manage part of the project from the initial idea to a reliable result and confidently represent your work to the client.
  • The development of younger colleagues is important to you. You provide guidance and strive to improve not only your own work, but also that of the team.
  • You consciously seek the close-knit atmosphere and responsibility of a boutique. For you, culture isn't a set program, but something that emerges from daily interactions. You want to take responsibility for this and help shape how Apirion operates, grows, and feels.
  • You have completed your university studies in economics, finance, mathematics, actuarial science, law or a related field with very good results.
