The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

The Portfolio Services Officer provides a range of advice, support, and coordination of projects that contribute to successful briefing and correspondence systems, processes and reporting across ministerial offices and the department. Reporting to the Team Leader, Portfolio Services, the Portfolio Services Officer is involved with coordinating processes and arrangements for international ministerial travel and projects and administrative tasks that support the effective functioning of ministerial offices and the Office of the Secretary.
