JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a highly professional Point of Sale (POS) Technical Analyst to join our team, who will be involved in supporting the day-to-day operations of technology applications and equipment. This position includes desk-side and on-site technical support. You will be required to perform installations, repairs, upgrades, backups, and other maintenance tasks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University/College diploma in electronics or information technology.
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Hardware and Software Installation/Configuration/Support
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered a substitution.
  • Ability to test and solve problems related to computing and / or email and / or network and / or point of sale terminals (POS).
  • Knowledge of computers, general networking concepts, internet usage, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (written/spoken).
  • Mandatory availability to work a rotating schedule which includes evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • A valid Alberta driver’s license and a reliable vehicle is required.
    This role requires a combination of time in the office, frequent travel to clients’ sites (Calgary and surrounding areas) and also some remote work. If you are someone who enjoys both technical aspect and people side of working in IT, this can be a great opportunity for you!

Responsibilities
  • Under limited supervision, perform technical work involved with installation, configuration, support and maintenance of the Point of Sales (POS) software and systems and related devices for our Clients.
  • Maintain and support all computers (servers, desktops, cash registers and laptops), databases, networked and standalone printers, label printers, scanning equipment and all other IT equipment.
  • Efficiently troubleshoot problems related to various electronic equipment. Test and repair cables and associated equipment.
  • Assist with installation of Merchant Menu TVs, Security Cameras, Cabling, Connectivity and Configuration.
  • Analyze problems and make recommendations as to the root causes and corrective actions and ensures that the customers are satisfied with the issue resolution.
  • Support, train, set up, and troubleshoot company-wide users. Prepare various reports; perform special projects.
  • Able to keep tools, equipment, materials, the vehicle and the workplace organized. Works in a systematic and efficient manner.
