As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. Physiotherapy services have a team of physiotherapists in the Emergency Department including primary contact, secondary contact and rotational staff and provide a 7 days per week 8 am to 8 pm service. The Role: We are looking for a motivated Senior Physiotherapist - Emergency Department who is keen to provide evidence-based physiotherapy to patients in the Emergency Department and Emergency Medical Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital. This secondary contact role is well supported and works collaboratively with Primary Contact Practitioners (AHP4 – Musculoskeletal Team) and a team of Secondary Contact Physiotherapists. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a complex multidisciplinary environment to optimise patient outcomes. Within the Tasmanian Health Services Framework and in accordance with Agency Policy and Procedures the Senior Physiotherapist will: * Provide contemporary evidence-based physiotherapy to the Emergency Department and Emergency Medical Unit to facilitate patient flow, advocate for patient admission or discharge and prevent hospital re-admission. * Provide clinical leadership, supervision and professional support to the Physiotherapy Medical Services Team, allied health assistants, undergraduate students and physiotherapists. * Contribute effectively to the team’s learning culture, quality improvement and service development activities. You will need: * Significant general and specific physiotherapist experience relevant to the identified clinical area/unit in conjunction with sound knowledge of relevant contemporary physiotherapy practice including assessment, intervention techniques, literature, resources, and equipment. * Proven commitment to ongoing professional development and ability to supervise and educate other health professionals, undergraduate students and support workers and a continuing contribution to knowledge in the identified clinical area/unit. * Demonstrated excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a complex multidisciplinary environment. Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Responsibilities
