The 14-bed facility operates with a shared care model between the local Derwent Valley Medical Centre (DVMC) and the Tasmanian Health Service. NNDH staffing profile enables inpatient care for adults requiring inpatient medical care, nursing care, comprehensive interdisciplinary assessment and care planning, and/or therapy to improve function. Services are supported through a range of administration and assistant roles including reception, administration officer, domestic assistants, allied health assistants, hospital assistants, and food services. THE ROLE * Under the supervision and delegation of the Registered Nurse assist patients with activities of daily living. * Provide general housekeeping services to the unit including cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas, ensuring that work is undertaken in accordance with Infection Control Guidelines and standard operating procedures for cleaning. * Assist with providing catering services to patients, including the delivery of meals and as appropriate assist with feeding. YOU WILL NEED * Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the provision of cleaning procedures within a health related environment including the use of cleaning equipment. * An understanding of the role of personal carer within the organisational structure, together with previous work experience with patients considered desirable. * Ability to develop and maintain appropriate and effective working relationships with other health workers and work as a member of a team. DETAILS OF APPOINTMENT Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. SALARY $65,827 to $68,854 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Plus 25% Casual Loading - Equivalent of $41.48 to $43.38 per hour. * Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
