The role develops team capability and performance, provides authoritative advice in complex environments and resolves service delivery challenges. The position also ensures the ongoing development of the State’s lead remote area firefighting personnel through a strong culture of safety, preparedness and professionalism. HOURS PER FORTNIGHT 76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation). ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS * Meet medical and fitness requirements under the Fire Management Fitness Policy, involving medical assessment and completion of the fire-fighter fitness assessment at the ‘Arduous’ or Modified Arduous level. * Minimum of 3000 hours combined bush firefighting and planned burns. * Completion of nationally recognised and accredited training (courses) for Divisional Commander, or Level II IMT functional role. * Licences and/or certificates to drive firefighting vehicles and operate and instruct others in operation of equipment. DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS * Remote Area First Aid Certificate. * Certificate IV (Public Safety Fire-fighting Supervision) or equivalent. * Certificate IV (Training and Assessment). * Experience or relevant qualifications to undertake roles related to Firefighting operations such as Level II functional roles, Air Observer, Advanced Tree Feller, Incendiary Operations Supervisor, Planned Burns Author, Planned Burn Incident Controller.
