[https://publicstorage.dc2.pageuppeople.com/759/ProviderAsset/756e410f-6af3-4af6-ac4a-a65c7960e089.png] LOCATION Hobart PERIOD OF APPOINTMENT 6 months  HOURS PER FORTNIGHT 73.5 hours per fortnight (talk to us about how this can work for you)  DUTIES * Develop and implement the Department’s Project Management strategy including leading the design and implementation of a common project management framework, standards, and tools to drive and facilitate the successful delivery of projects. * Lead the Project Management Office to be an effective and engaged team to support the agency’s strategic projects through the provision of high-level advice and leadership to project managers, project teams and stakeholders on the effective delivery of projects. * Work across the agency to provide advice and expertise in the development of business cases, funding submissions and project initiation documentation to gain support for investment in new ideas and initiatives. * Coordinate the assessment of requests for new projects and technical works, and facilitate the decision-making around technical resource allocation and prioritisation through the Technical Governance Committee. * Coordinate the reporting to the Technical Governance Committee on PMO projects, and provide advice and reports to the Committee as required, to ensure transparency and oversight. * Foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with project leaders and senior stakeholders.  * Monitor, analyse and report to steering committees and agency executive on the overall performance of key agency projects, including risks, budget, and change. * Develop and deliver services to support project and program management capability across the organisation to reduce project related risk and aid in achieving project outcomes. * Lead the PMO team to provide expertise in project management, and foster the skills and knowledge of the PMO staff to be leaders in contemporary project management. * Manage interdependencies and coordination across a portfolio of projects and actively evaluate and oversee individual projects for issues and risks, communicating and escalating as required. * Provide leadership and motivation to gain the support of consultants internal and external stakeholders and project team members in the achievement of challenging, difficult, and sometimes conflicting objectives. * Undertake representative roles as required, developing productive working relationships with specialist and stakeholders, sharing ideas, and resolving problems arising within projects.
