Description
Tourism Tasmania is looking for an experienced communications professional who thrives on strategy, loves the craft of communications planning, and brings the discipline to see ideas through from brief to delivery. What you'll be responsible for * Proactively leading and coordinating corporate communications across a portfolio of agency programs and projects, setting clear priorities and managing workflow to deliver strategic, coordinated and consistent messaging across relevant channels and audiences. * Developing comprehensive communications plans, messaging frameworks that align with agency strategy and support program leads to deliver their objectives. * Working collaboratively to drive the end-to-end delivery of communications activities across government, industry, media and corporate channels from planning and content development through to execution and performance tracking. * Contributing to Ministerial and government communications, including preparation of briefings, talking points and correspondence, in collaboration with the Head of Communications and Government Relations. * Supporting the management and increasing engagement with the Agency’s corporate communications channels including the industry newsletter, website and LinkedIn. What you'll work on * Partnering with program leads across the agency to develop and implement integrated communications plans that maximise advocacy opportunities and deliver strategic messaging to the right audiences at the right time. * Developing and maintaining messaging frameworks, tone of voice guidance and communications assets tailored to audience and platform — spanning government stakeholders, industry, media and community. * Contributing to the preparation of ministerial and government documents, industry communications and media materials in collaboration with the Head of Communications and Government Relations and the Government Media Unit. * Supporting local media engagement and corporate reputation activities, including contributing to critical incident and issues communications as required. * Tracking and reporting on communications activity and outcomes across your portfolio to support continuous improvement and demonstrate impact. * Working collaboratively across both the Communications and Government Relations team and the broader agency to ensure information flows effectively and communications activity is well coordinated. * Delivering outcomes-based project and budget management activities to support the delivery of key programs. Who you are You are a confident and capable communications professional who is as comfortable shaping a strategy as you are rolling up your sleeves to deliver it. You bring rigour to your planning, creativity to your content and genuine care to your stakeholder relationships. You are someone who asks good questions, listens carefully and uses that understanding to develop communications that land. You know how to manage competing priorities without losing sight of quality, and you bring a calm, solutions-focused approach when things get complex or fast-moving. You have a connection to Tasmania — or are excited to develop one — and you understand that working for Tourism Tasmania is about more than a job. It's about contributing to something that matters to this island and the people who call it home. Period of appointment 12 months, fixed-term This vacancy has been advertised as a Tasmanian State Service expression of interest. Only current Tasmanian State Service employees are eligible to apply.
