The Unit delivers integrated, evidence‑based workforce planning aligned with service and infrastructure planning, leads implementation and monitoring of the Health Workforce Sustainability Strategy and Plan, and ensures alignment with national workforce reforms and priorities. The Medical Workforce Policy and Strategy Unit (MWPSU) is a functional stream of the WSPU, providing dedicated leadership in medical workforce policy, strategy, education and training coordination, and medical staffing frameworks to support statewide consistency and sustainable medical workforce supply. THE ROLE This position supports the development, analysis and implementation of medical workforce policy initiatives that promote sustainable workforce models and statewide consistency. It applies quantitative and qualitative data analysis to workforce intelligence to identify emerging risks, issues and opportunities and ensure policy advice is evidence‑based. Working collaboratively with the Workforce Planning Team and a wide range of stakeholders, the position contributes to the development of policies, guidelines and frameworks that align with regulatory and industrial requirements. It involves drafting high‑quality policy documents and briefing materials, monitoring the policy environment, consulting on proposed initiatives, and supporting evaluation and continuous improvement to strengthen workforce sustainability and service delivery outcomes. YOU WILL NEED * Proven experience in policy development and analysis in complex settings, using data analytics to inform decisions and evaluate outcomes. * Strong capability to analyse workforce data and translate insights into evidence‑based policy that supports sustainable workforce and service delivery goals. * Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to clearly convey policy and data insights to diverse audiences. DETAILS OF APPOINTMENT Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
