Our service covers the full scope of maternity care including antenatal clinics, parenting education classes, pregnancy and postnatal assessment services, a 4 bed birthing suite, 20 bed inpatient ward, 8 bed special care nursery and extended care midwifery services for women when they discharge home after birth. We also offer women dedicated lactation services as well as connections through our allied health colleagues for social work, women’s health physio and diabetes services and perinatal mental health. The Role: Works in partnership with the Maternity Unit Manager (MUM) to lead the efficient and effective provision of maternity care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework * Works in partnership with the Maternity Unit Manager (MUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. * Assists the MUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day client facing activities, including appointment re/scheduling and management of staff leave. * Ensure the maintenance of effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to promote client care delivery. * Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards and policies and procedures to promote a client focused model of care according to best practice principles. * Act as a role model and clinical resource person to provide clinical advice and recommendations, support service development processes and promote positive change.
