[https://publicstorage.dc2.pageuppeople.com/759/ProviderAsset/scribble/a3af7094-61ba-4a7f-83f6-7c793b5b9863.png] ABOUT THE ROLE Based on Tasmania’s rugged Northwest coast at the Arthur River Field Centre, the Field Officer is responsible for: * Maintaining visitor facilities including campgrounds, day areas, barbeques, toilets, and roads. * Supporting conservation works such as weed and pest management, vegetation protection, erosion control, and monitoring activities. * Responding to emergency events such as bushfires and whale strandings. * Participating in education and compliance activities to ensure the safety and enjoyment of visitors to the Reserves. * Contributing to the implementation of exciting projects, including the West Coast Offroad Vehicle Project and the Edge of the World redevelopment. Characterised by sweeping dunes, rugged headlands, reefs, untamed rivers, and broad beaches, the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area boasts a dramatic and remote coastline. The region is deeply connected to Aboriginal heritage, pioneering history, and a diversity of unique and endemic species, all of which are protected through state and federal legislation.
