* Provide authoritative advice, briefings and recommendations on procurement, contract and insurable risk management policies and frameworks across the State Service. * Oversee the financial management and policy settings for the Tasmanian Risk Management Fund. * Effectively lead the financial management of the Branch’s fleet and contract management functions. * Research and evaluate contemporary approaches to branch outputs, to inform effective policy proposals and projects suitable to introduction into the State Service. * Represent the Department and Government to agency and industry stakeholders. * Build and maintain collaborative relationships with State Service agencies and other organisations to support whole-of-government initiatives, public finance outcomes, and broader public policy objectives. The branch minimises the cost of risk to government agencies through the Government Insurance and Risk Fund. PERIOD OF APPOINTMENT  This is a fixed term appointment for a period of 5 years.
