HOURS PER FORTNIGHT 76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation). PERIOD OF APPOINTMENT From September 2026 to May 2027. LOCATION  Hobart, Launceston, Ulverstone, or Scottsdale. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS * Meet medical and fitness requirements under the Fire Management Fitness Policy, involving medical assessment and completion of the fire-fighter fitness assessment at the ‘Arduous or Modified Arduous’ level. * Current Manual Motor Vehicle Driver’s License. BAND 2 * Minimum 600 hours of combined bush firefighting and planned burns experience. * PUA201719 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations). BAND 3 * Minimum 1500 hours of combined bush firefighting and planned burns experience. * PUA201719 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations). * Completion of the required units of competence as specified in Section 4.1.8 of the AWU Award, including nationally recognised and accredited training (courses) for the Crew Leader role DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS * Remote Area First Aid Certificate. * Licences and/or certificates to drive firefighting vehicles and equipment.
