The Team: Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service (NTPS) provides Pathology services to Launceston General Hospital and the Northern regions of Tasmania. We are the only public pathology service operating in North Tasmania. NTPS aims to deliver a high-quality service to general practitioners, medical specialists and private hospitals, providing patients with no out of pocket expenses for Medicare eligible tests. The team at NTPS comprises a large team involving multi-disciplinary scientists, technicians, non-technical staff and Pathologists. The Role: * Assist the Medical Scientist in charge in the day-to-day tasks of the Microbiology department, as assigned. * Apply professional judgement and scientific specialist knowledge towards performance, analysis and troubleshooting of standard diagnostic procedures, whilst displaying a high level of scientific skills. * Forge a close professional relationship with interdepartmental teams and be able to confidentially communicate information with requestors and clinical personnel seeking information on samples, results or test related information. * Ability to work in a team. Details of appointment: Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working 68 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date until 21 January 2027. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum (Pro rata).
