The Team: The Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Transfusion department supports all the tertiary referral units within the RHH. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our customers, our workforce and the Tasmanian community. The Role: * Lead and coordinate all scientific and technical staff in the Transfusion Medicine Laboratory * Ensure adherence to national and local regulations and procedures and that required accreditation standards are continuously achieved. * Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training. You will need: * Relevant post graduate qualifications in the field of activity of the Department. E.g.: PhD, FFSc(RCPA), FAIMS or M.Sc. * A minimum of five years’ experience in the field of activity of the Transfusion Medicine Laboratory in a relatively large tertiary hospital or its equivalent. Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application. Details of appointment: Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. * Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
