The Unit delivers integrated, evidence‑based workforce planning aligned with service and infrastructure planning, leads implementation and monitoring of the Health Workforce Sustainability Strategy and Plan, and ensures alignment with national workforce reforms and priorities. The Workforce Planning Team is responsible for the delivery of strategic, integrated workforce planning that is aligned with the Health Workforce Sustainability Strategy and Plan 2025-2030. THE ROLE This position provides specialised technical expertise to deliver integrated workforce planning and analysis that supports the long‑term sustainability of Tasmania’s health workforce. It focuses on developing long‑term and annual workforce planning outputs using established and emerging methodologies, applying quantitative and qualitative analysis to model scenarios and assess sustainability. Working closely with data specialists and key stakeholders, the position interprets workforce data, refines planning assumptions, contributes to improved planning tools and processes, and prepares clear reports and briefings that translate technical insights into practical, actionable recommendations aligned with service and community needs. YOU WILL NEED * Expertise in workforce planning, applying established methodologies to develop integrated and sustainable workforce plans. * Strong analytical capability to interpret and synthesise complex quantitative and qualitative data into evidence‑based scenarios and recommendations. * Effective stakeholder engagement skills, with experience coordinating discussions, incorporating feedback and informing planning analysis.
