[https://publicstorage.dc2.pageuppeople.com/384/ProviderAsset/scribble/89f2e3e9-c57a-45a3-9350-458fccd2bc04.jpg] THE TEAM Located at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH), the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology provides a consultative service and is supported by a level 4 maternity, a level 4 neonatal unit, and an 8 bed intensive care unit. The maternity unit, housing the birthing suite and all inpatient maternity patients for the region, with antenatal care provided at NWRH, Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) and the outreach clinics. There are approximately 1000 births annually and staffing includes experienced midwives with highly sought after MGP scheme. The outreach services (antenatal and gynaecology clinics) are located at regional centres which include the West Coast District Hospital, Smithton District Hospital and King Island District Hospital and Health Centre. THE ROLE This position will be attractive to highly skilled and motivated medical professionals who view challenges as opportunities and is driven by a passion to improve healthcare in the complex world of modern health systems. The right applicants will play a key role in developing health care at both patient and system levels. The DoH offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. As such, you will be responsible for providing leadership and help with the delivery of the Undergraduate general medical education program. The successful applicant will participate in the after hours on call roster, based at NWRH. SALARY Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $222,789 - $319,701 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging.
