OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Positive Support Practitioner to join our team supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. You’ll help develop and deliver Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and recovery-focused approaches that improve wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.
This role is ideal for someone with care or support experience, who is passionate about PBS and person-centred practice. You will receive mentoring from senior colleagues and opportunities for further training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Individual and group work under the guidance of Senior Practitioners.
  • Work with colleagues and external professionals to ensure joined-up, person centred support.
  • Support the Senior Positive Support Practitioner in mentoring frontline staff teams.
  • Promote the positive well-being of the people who live in services by assisting in the provision of PBS for individuals supported by the organisation.
  • Undertake assessments, observations, and behaviour reviews under supervision.
  • Co-produce PBS Plans and Wellness Recovery Action Plans with individuals, families and staff teams.
  • Assist in the development of interventions aimed to reduce the intensity, frequency and potential of challenging behaviours.
  • Collect and report data on behaviour and recovery outcomes and assist with monitoring of interventions and contribute to reflective practice and service delivery.
  • Provide day to day guidance to staff teams on the use of PBS and recovery strategies.
  • Attend and contribute to service meetings, reviews and multidisciplinary forums as appropriate.
  • Participate in professional development, PBS qualifications, networking events, supervisions, and appraisals.
  • Uphold high standards of PBS, safeguarding standards, organisational policies, and professional codes of conduct.
