Description Job Summary: (Possible Opening) We are seeking an innovative and student-centered Middle School Teacher (6-8) with a focus on Real World Learning (RWL) and Project Lead The Way (PLTW). This role involves delivering engaging, hands-on instruction that blends academic standards with real-world applications, career exploration, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will implement the PLTW curriculum to foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, while supporting students in making meaningful connections between their learning and future pathways. Responsibilities: Plan and teach PLTW curriculum units (e.g., Design & Modeling, Automation & Robotics, App Creators) that align with school goals for Real World Learning. Facilitate project-based learning experiences that integrate STEM concepts with the real-world relevance and career readiness. Collaborate with fellow teachers and community partners to create interdisciplinary learning experiences. Engage students in authentic problem-solving, inquiry, and innovation through the PLTW framework. Encourage exploration of STEM careers and facilitate interactions with industry professionals and mentors. Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to measure student understanding and skill development. Support students in showcasing their learning through portfolios, presentations, or exhibitions. Work with National Junior Honor Society Students (NJHS) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, preferred, or a related field. Completion of PLTW Core Training (or willingness to complete required PLTW) Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student empowerment through real-world learning. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with PLTW’s learning management system and assessment tools. Experience working with local businesses or community partners to enrich classroom learning. Ability to use technology effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement.
