General:
The PostDoc position would be to further modelling activities in the Manufacturing Science and Technology department within Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine in the Process Science, Modelling, and Data (PSMD) group. The role will involve using innovative analytics to support various advanced therapy (cell and gene therapy) manufacturing processes for specific upstream and downstream stages of the process to predict critical quality attributes.
We are seeking someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, possesses strong analytical skills, and demonstrates outstanding problem-solving abilities. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside a team of innovative professionals who are committed to making a positive impact in the field of advanced therapy manufacturing. The initial contract would be approximately 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibility:

  • Predict product attributes based on manufacturing data and additional characterization information to support the process and scientific understanding of advanced therapies
  • Apply creative solutions to build models and perform statistical analyses to solve complex problems via statistical, mechanistic, multivariate, machine learning models, etc.
  • Develop automated data pipelines enabling the connection of real-time data from various systems
  • Create impactful and intuitive visualizations of real-time data and trends
  • Automatic detection and alerting of out-of-trend processes and out-of-specification results
  • Develop a framework that can be expanded to include additional data sources and medicines or intermediates
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs and engineers to identify user requirements and to ensure maximal value of the developed solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • PhD in an engineering field (biomedical, chemical, biochemical, etc.) or computer science
  • Knowledge and experience in data analysis and report writing is required
  • +2 years experience using R, python, and/or other statistical software such as SIMCA
  • Demonstrated experience performing statistical analyses (e.g. ANOVA, t-tests, regression, control charts)
  • Familiarity with cell culture manufacturing processes is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Great teammate: working in cross-functional teams
