Description
The laboratory of Dr. Delphine Gomez investigates the epigenetic mechanisms controlling vascular cell phenotypic states and behavior during vascular development, homeostasis, and disease. The laboratory is particularly interested in delineating the molecular processes involved in vascular cell lineage and function specification, transcriptional memory, and adaptive plasticity. Investigation of such mechanisms, as well as characterization of their alteration in major cardiovascular diseases, deepens our understanding of central pathophysiological processes related to cell environmental adaptation, responsiveness, and pleiotropic functions. The postdoctoral associate will lead a research project under the supervision of Dr. Gomez. They will be responsible for planning and performing experiments, maintaining mouse lines associated with the project, analyzing data, preparing figures and manuscripts, and applying for fellowships. The type of experiments performed ranges from molecular biology, cell biology, histology, epigenetic assays, and omics. Minimum requirements: A Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Physiology, or a related field is required. Particular consideration to candidates with experience in vascular biology, mouse models, epigenetics, or bioinformatics. Interested applicants should apply via join.pitt.edu requisition #25005369.
