Description
We are recruiting a post-doc associate in the field of high-throughput genomic data analysis. Specifically, this position will focus on the field of biostatistics and bioinformatics analysis of genomic data, under the supervision of Dr. Silvia Liu (https://sites.pitt.edu/~shl96/). Dr. Liu is an Assistant Professor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. We are seeking a highly trained candidate to work in two major parts: Responsibilities 1. Methodology projects to develop novel biostatistical algorithms and bioinformatics pipelines for multi-omics integration. 2. Application projects to collaborate with multiple labs: apply cutting-edge bioinformatics and biostatistics pipelines for real biomedical questions. Qualifications  A Ph.D. degree is required or expected by Dec 2025 in a related field (e.g., Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Statistics).  Extensive experience in microarray and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, including RNA-seq, WGS/WES, ChIP-seq, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics.  Strong background in biostatistical genomic data analysis, including differential expression, pathway enrichment, clustering, and supervised machine learning.  Proven experience in genomic data visualization and preparation of publication-quality figures.  Proficiency in R and Bash is required; familiarity with other programming languages is preferred.  Strong ability to translate between biological questions and statistical analyses.  Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary research teams.
Responsibilities
The post-doc associate will develop novel biostatistical algorithms and bioinformatics pipelines for multi-omics integration. They will also collaborate with multiple labs to apply bioinformatics and biostatistics pipelines for real biomedical questions.
