Description
The University of Pittsburgh at Children’s Hospital, Kohanbash lab is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our dynamic and collaborative team studying brain tumor immunology. Our research focuses on understanding immune regulatory mechanisms in gliomas and developing novel immunotherapeutic strategies for pediatric and adult brain tumors. The successful candidate will work on projects investigating the tumor microenvironment, T-cell and myeloid cell biology, immune evasion mechanisms, and preclinical immunotherapy models. The lab integrates molecular immunology, tumor biology, and translational research approaches to uncover therapeutic targets and improve patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities include: Design, execute, and analyze experiments involving tumor immunology, including immune profiling, flow cytometry, and molecular biology assays. Conduct in vivo studies using murine glioma models to test novel immunotherapies. Collaborate with team members and external partners in a multidisciplinary research environment. Present research findings at lab meetings, scientific conferences, and in peer-reviewed publications, and Contribute to grant proposals, manuscript preparation, and mentoring of graduate and undergraduate trainees. The Kohanbash Lab is part of the Department of Neurological Surgery, UPMC Children's Hospital and the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant community of immunologists, neuro-oncologists, and translational researchers.
