Our staff and students can connect with our: Rainbow and Women in Science networks, Parenting support, our Waipapa Marae and our flagship Tuākana Māori and Pacific support programme.Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Applications are invited for a 12-month fixed-term Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Mathematics Department at the University of Auckland.The project is to work alongside one of our Professors on their project "Fingerprints of wild chaos: from theory to practical relevance".The postdoctoral research fellow will work on a subproject concerning the dynamics of partially hyperbolic endomorphisms, that is, discrete-time dynamical systems with non-unique backward-time behaviour. Knowledge of the theory of partial hyperbolicity and experience with non-invertible dynamics are essential.The fellow will also be expected to deliver lectures in the Maths Department, covering both Pure and Applied Mathematics, and will have the opportunity to participate in departmental activities, including equity and outreach initiatives.The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community, undertaking high-quality research, contributing to teaching and postgraduate supervision, and participating in departmental service and outreach activities.
