The adMare Academy has trained more than 500 alumni – 94% of whom are now working to build our life sciences industry  Job Summary:  Applications are invited for a twenty-four-month research intensive fellowship program at adMare designed to offer fellows a hands-on bench scientific experience while developing valuable and lifelong career advancement skills in adMare’s innovative research environment.  In addition to contributing both intellectually and experimentally to the therapeutic program with focus on data generation fellows will receive on-the-job training supplemented with customized learning and development initiatives to advance the understanding of the drug development lifecycle and personal skill acquisition.  We are seeking postdoctoral fellows with a passion for synthetic organic chemistry and/or medicinal chemistry to join our Vancouver site. The postdoctoral fellow will gain experience in modern medicinal chemistry techniques and strategies. This program offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in drug discovery and to be part of a multidisciplinary team including biology, pharmacology and Drug Metabolism.  Key Responsibilities: * Engage meaningfully with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities with an outlook on transferrable competencies.  * Leverage past scientific experience, design, execute and drive key cutting edge R&D initiatives within adMare’s programs.  * Prepare data for presentation at lab and departmental meetings and/or conferences.  * Participate in manuscript and patent application writing, as appropriate.  * Develop professional soft skills critical to success within & outside adMare.  * Broaden professional network within the life sciences industry.  Education and Experience:  * Recently completed a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry or a related field from an accredited graduate level institution.  * The successful candidate should have a strong interest and demonstrate deep understanding and experience in the specified field of research.  * The successful candidate is expected to understand the assigned project and work independently, propose experimental hypotheses, design experimental questions and protocols, and plan, coordinate, conduct and report on assigned research projects.  * Excellent communication and writing skills, as well as a team-oriented mindset for collaborative research, are critical.  * Technical proficiency, scientific creativity, independent thought, and ability to effectively collaborate with others with multiple scientific disciplines.   ***Only local residents of Canada (students in Canadian PhD programs) are considered at this time.    We are committed to growing our talented team and their potential to drive innovative novel therapeutics.
