Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our lab at Emory University. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of advanced informatics workflows designed to support the analysis of large digital pathology image sets. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computational pathology, and biomedical research. This position will primarily focus on developing workflows to support the analysis of digital slides obtained from autopsy as part of our work on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement informatics workflows for the analysis of large digital pathology image datasets.
  • DevOps support to help design and implement a
  • Design, train, and evaluate AI models for image analysis using frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Optimize computational workflows to leverage GPU computing for enhanced performance.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, pathologists, and data scientists.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with AI and machine learning models, particularly in the context of image analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Experience with GPU computing and high-performance computing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with digital pathology or biomedical image analysis.
  • Familiarity with software development practices, including version control (e.g., Git).
  • Strong publication record in relevant areas of research.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues. Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
