Description:
DESCRIPTION
Post Doctoral Research Fellow: We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative postdoc with prior experience conducting technology design research with neurodivergent populations. The postdoc will conduct ethnographic field work and participatory design sessions to lay the groundwork for the development of workplace assistive technologies powered by artificial intelligence (AI) for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This project is a collaboration between special education and human-centered computing experts. The postdoc could participate in and/or further develop our long-term efforts to design AI-powered assistive technologies to support a neurodivergent workforce. The postdocs will be employed in the College of Education at Clemson University. The position will be a full-time appointment for 12-months, with a possibility of renewal dependent upon performance. The successful candidate will receive training in professional and personal development, research collaboration, presentation and publication of results, proposal development, outreach, and mentoring. The positions include a competitive salary, health insurance, and retirement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
1) Ph.D. in Special Education, Computer Science, Information Science, or related areas.
2) Proven experience in accessibility and assistive technology research with neurodivergent populations.
3) Good qualitative analysis, writing, and presentation skills.
4) Experience publishing peer-reviewed publications.
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Demonstrated ability to direct and run independent research project(s).
2) Experience working with young adults with intellectual and developmental disability.
3) Knowledge of and experience with ethnography and participatory design.
