Job Description:
The Engler research group is seeking a Post Doctoral Researcher to conduct synthetic monomer and polymer synthesis for a project funded by the National Science Foundation. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative project (4 research groups) on designing novel polymers for semiconductor fabrication processes. The main duties will include designing, synthesizing, and characterizing stimuli-responsive polymers. They will collaborate with experts in synchrotron radiation, electron microscopy, and molecular dynamics simulations to investigate fundamental polymer interactions with high energy photons and electrons to generate high-impact findings. Additionally, postdoctoral researchers are expected to take leadership roles in laboratory, such as training and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students as well as developing new methods. As such, successful candidates will demonstrate initiative, leadership, creativity, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. The candidate will work both independently and collaboratively on research projects, write reports and manuscripts, and present findings at science and engineering conferences. This position is initially for two years with the intent to extend it for a third year contingent upon performance.
80% Conduct research in the field of organic polymer synthesis; work independently on research projects; collaborate with other research groups

Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, or Material Science or related field.
