Description
Department Overview Research of the laboratory is directed toward a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that underlie addiction and improved treatment of substance use disorders. A Post-Doctoral researcher position is open at Oregon Health & Science University working with Dr. Angela Ozburn. Emphasis placed on mentorship, career development, and research. The post-doctoral researcher will be exposed to a wide range of behavioral, molecular, brain circuit mapping, and informatics approaches and expertise in a highly collaborative and productive lab. Function/Duties of Position Planning, designing, and executing novel and complex experiments. Employ analyses of data related to mechanisms that underlie addiction, presentation of project results, and writing manuscripts. Train and supervise staff, graduate assistants, and student employees in informatics. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications PhD in a field of study related to the research. Preferred Qualifications Background in alcohol research, neuroscience, and/or genetics. Experience with animal research. Statistical analysis. Familiarity with scientific literature, and designing, planning, executing, analyzing, and disseminating research. Additional Details Monday - Friday, up to 8 hours per day; occasional night or weekend work may be required. Working with research animals/animal tissues required.
