Description
About sync. sync. is a team of artists, engineers, and scientists building foundation models to edit and modify people in video. Founded by the creators of Wav2lip and backed by legendary investors - including YC, Google, and visionaries Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross - we've raised 6 million dollars in our seed round to evolve how we create and consume media. Within months of launch, our flagship lipsync API scaled to millions in revenue and powers video translation, dubbing, and dialogue replacement workflows for thousands of editors, developers, and businesses around the world. That's only the beginning; we're building a creative suite to give anyone Photoshop-like control over humans in video, with zero-shot understanding and fine-grained editing of expressions, gestures, movement, identity, and more. Everyone has a story to tell, but not everyone's a storyteller yet. We're looking for talented and driven individuals from all backgrounds to build inspired tools that amplify human creativity. About the Role We’re building the world’s first visual dubbing studio, and are looking for a post-production editor to join our creative team. We’re looking for someone with over five years of experience editing internet media using professional tools and working with studio-level materials. In this role, your main focus will be directly collaborating with our producer to take a non-dubbed piece of content, then work with our models to lipsync the content. Then, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the lipsynced output is of as high quality as possible so that the results look native: fixing artifacts, compositing subtle mouth/teeth/tongue details, re-graining, QC, and delivering masters. Who You Are Collaborative and thrives with complex workflows Works well under pressure Loves the art of storytelling and films Can juggle multiple projects at once while meeting tight deadlines Looking to grow their skillset by learning new tools and workflows Wants to have fun while working with the technology of the future What You’ll Do Run model passes, manage shot batches, and organize versions. Clean up artifacts (flicker, edge chatter, warping), comp fixes, and match grain. Track/roto as needed for occlusions and tricky mouth interiors. Work with the producer on the same projects simultaneously using proxies and project management softwares. Be prepared to work long hours as needed and meet tight deadlines. Maintain strict QC checklists and log notes. Must-Haves 5+ years editing videos on professional tools. 3+ years in Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects comfortable/competent. Familiarity with other video editing tools including Davinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer. Proven long-form discipline (timecode accuracy, clean timelines, organized media). Delivery literacy (codecs/bit-depths, containers, delivery formats). Strong eye for the art of invisible editing. Audio cleanup and editing experience. A strong understanding of the industry standard post-production process. Experience collaborating with and/or learning from industry experts. Nice to Have Experience working as an editor on films. Advanced VFX cleanup expertise Basic understanding of ffmpeg and scripting for automation An understanding of pacing, rhythm, and emotional engagement in storytelling. Experience with dubbing and localization. This will be a remote role, with occasional on-sites at our San Francisco office to collaborate alongside the different departments at sync. Our goal is to keep the team lean, hungry, and shipping fast. These are the qualities we embody and look for: [1] Raw intelligence: we tackle complex problems and push the boundaries of what's possible. [2] Boundless curiosity: we're always learning, exploring new technologies, and questioning assumptions. [3] Exceptional resolve: we persevere through challenges and never lose sight of our goals. [4] High agency: we take ownership of our work and drive initiatives forward autonomously. [5] Outlier hustle: we work smart and hard, going above and beyond to achieve extraordinary results. [6] Obsessively data-driven: we base our decisions on solid data and measurable outcomes. [7] Radical candor: we communicate openly and honestly, providing direct feedback to help each other grow.
Responsibilities
The post-production editor will collaborate with the producer to lipsync content and ensure high-quality output. Responsibilities include managing shot batches, cleaning up artifacts, and maintaining strict QC checklists.
