Description

The Rennie group at the Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen invites applications for a postdoc position focussed on developing computational methodologies for understanding the role of RNA modifications in gene regulation.
The position is part of the Novo Nordisk Foundation–funded project “Probabilistic Modelling Approaches for Deciphering Post-Transcriptional Gene Regulation.”

The expected start date is May 15, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.

REQUIRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of statistical modelling and machine learning
  • Experience analysing transcriptomic datasets, particularly single-cell and/or Nanopore long-read sequencing data would be considered an advantage
  • Proficiency in Python or R, and familiarity with good coding practices (e.g., GitHub)
  • Curiosity and interest in RNA-based gene regulation
  • Excellent English language skills and willingness to present work in diverse settings, including international conferencesEnthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration; the Rennie Group works closely with several leading experimental labs locally and internationally

  • In addition, applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in computational biology or a relevant field. Candidates expecting to complete their PhD before the start date of the position will also be considered.
