JOB DESCRIPTION
TU Delft is offering an 18-month postdoctoral position focused on modeling multidirectional loading in anchors for floating offshore wind turbines. The role is part of the European project TAILWIND (tailwind-project.eu) and aims to integrate experimental data from advanced centrifuge tests with numerical simulations.
We are looking for candidates with a PhD in geotechnical engineering and proven experience in numerical modeling of offshore foundation systems. Knowledge and experience of physical testing would be an advantage. The sucessful candidate is resposnible to provide insights into this complex soil-structure interaction problem through numerical modelling of the experiments performed at geotectnical centfiuge at TU Delft together with data availbe from project partners. The tools/software used to perform the analyses are flexible and applicants can suggest their preferrred modelling approach.The project is funded through the EU TAILWIND project and will involve close collaboration with leading academic and industry partners, including Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, the University of Southampton, and Subsea7. You will join a large, active and vibrant researh group in Offshore Geotechnics and Geotechnical Engineering.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
