Postdoc position available for research on pathways to homelessness using register data
Project partners
The project is part of a collaboration led by Senior Researcher and PI Sandra Feodor Nilsson at the Copenhagen Research Center for Mental Health, CORE (place of employment) with Prof. Thomas Munk Laursen, Center for Register-based Research, Aarhus University, and Prof. Seena Fazel, Oxford University.
The Project
The project is part of a larger register-based project on homelessness titled: ”Homelessness, social marginalisation, and adverse problems,” funded by the ROCKWOOL Foundation.
This project examines pathways into homelessness and identifies risk groups for homelessness, while also attempting to predict negative outcomes among homeless and socially marginalised individuals. The aim is to improve evidence in the field to understand why some people become homeless and to focus more on prevention opportunities. This knowledge is useful for user organisations supporting the project, policymakers, and from an international research perspective.
In Denmark, we have a unique opportunity to study homelessness using Danish registers, which is utilized in this project. Since homeless individuals are often difficult to study, we can contribute with unique knowledge in this area with these data.
The postdoc project aims to illuminate pathways into homelessness with a focus on psychiatric disorders and violent incidents, including both being a victim of violence and committing violence.
We imagine that you have a background in public health, statistics, epidemiology, sociology, psychology, medicine, or related fields.
The work will involve data analysis and the preparation of scientific articles with close collaboration.
