JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Research and publication activities on topics in the field of International Relations, participation in research grant applications
• Contribution to teaching in the study programmes of the department (two courses per semester / 4 SWS)
• Management and administrative tasks in the context of the Chair
• The opportunity for further academic qualification (Habilitation) is given

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree (Diplom [univ.] or Master’s) with very good results in political science or a related discipline
• At the start of employment, completed Ph.D. in the field of International Relations with above-average results
• Experience with publications in international peer-reviewed academic journals
• An incipient independent research agenda in any subfield of International Relations
• Very good knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
• Very good command of German and English
  The conditions of employment will be determined by the labour contract for government employees of the German Länder (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst der Länder – TV-L) and the German law on temporary employment in academic positions (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The classification of the position as pay grade E13 TV-L is dependent on the fulfilment of personal requirements and the exercise of all assigned duties.
