Postdoctoral Fellow, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Entity: Medical College Location: Karachi, Pakistan Introduction: The Aga Khan University was found in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Aga Khan University is a unique/distinguish establishment which serves the clinical laboratory of Aga Khan University Hospital with academic interest. This department is heavily engaged in undergraduate, postgraduate and technologist training programs. It provides professional training for higher degree in four major areas of Pathology (Chemical Pathology, Hematology, Histopathology, and Microbiology). Currently, there are approximately 61 Faculty, including 3 part time, 2 visiting faculty members, and 41 Residents. This is a grant-funded contractual position. Responsibilities: You will be responsible to: support supervisor in other surveillance and research activities as directed prepare grant proposals for the next phase of research work in collaboration with all levels of the professional associations, health policy researchers or any other external group towards reaching the goals and objectives liaise with regulatory authorities on diagnostics in Pakistan as lead project representative communicate effectively with scientific community via online media on research project findings produce high-quality technical documents of qualitative data collected conduct literature reviews, policy landscape analyses, qualitative interviews and analyses. Requirements: You should have: a PhD in Health Sciences or equivalent from an HEC recognized or reputable foreign university/institution at least two years’ of relevant work experience demonstrable excellence in research via a strong publication record in related field knowledge of the health and diagnostics industry familiar with the government policies, affairs and technologies on tuberculosis ability to assess critical situations and give analytical solutions knowledge of computer applications and programming skills with NVivo and process mapping software excellent written and verbal communicator excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail. Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
