The Department of Anaesthesia in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Pediatric Pain and Rehabilitation.
Drs Jillian Vinall Miller (Associate Professor in Anesthesia, UCalgary), Nivez Rasic (Clinical Associate Professor in Anesthesia, UCalgary) and Elizabeth Condliffe (Assistant Professor of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine, UCalgary) are seeking a clinical researcher for a 2-year, full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. The successful applicant will lead the identification and selection of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and Patient-Reported Experience Measures (PREMs). They will lead the development and completion of research projects related to pediatric pain and rehabilitation, utilizing PROMs & PREMs, and including at least one project related to the intersection of these programs. Finally, they will lead the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations at research meetings and develop educational material for patients, families, clinicians and researchers.
The successful applicant will be provided an office space at the Alberta Children¿s Hospital in Calgary, AB, and will report to the above researchers. This position will require the successful applicant to interact and work closely with other members of the clinical and research teams. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of all phases of the research. Highly motivated individuals with experience in the management of large databases and advanced statistical knowledge are highly desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have completed a PhD, preferably completed within the last 2-years from a recognized University, with extensive human research experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience in scientific communication, through authorship on peer-reviewed publications in relevant areas. Experience working in pediatric populations would be a considerable asset.
