Description

Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Post-Doctoral Researcher or Scientist to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in functional epigenetics and cancer evolution. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and executing experiments to characterize cell state dynamics and the underlying mechanisms during cancer evolution.
The successful candidate will work closely with wet and dry lab team members and the Principal Investigator (Dr. Mzoughi) to develop innovative strategies to reverse aberrant cell states in cancer. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field of epigenetic plasticity and high impact publications are also expected.
Our group collaborates closely with the Techno-Omics Research unit, embedded within the Center for Oncogenomics and Innovative Therapeutics, to develop new single-cell omics tools.
Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., cancer biology, molecular biology, (epi)genetics, or related disciplines).
  • At least one first-author publication in a reputable journal.
  • Proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, cloning, and western blotting.
  • Preferred experience in ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and/or working with organoids, mice, and genetic barcoding.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
The Mzoughi lab is dedicated to transformative basic and translational research aimed at improving cancer treatment and patient outcomes. By joining our young team, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside dedicated researchers and clinicians who share a passion for making a meaningful impact in the field of oncology.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references to slim.mzoughi@mssm.edu. Please include “Post-Doctoral Researcher Application @Mzoughi Lab” in the subject line.
Mount Sinai is an equal opportunity employer, and we encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds. We value diversity and inclusion in our research community.
