Description
Our project is focused on the development of an integrated unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system and a sophisticated digital traffic platform. We are seeking motivated research staff to join our dynamic team and contribute to cutting-edge research in robotics, artificial intelligence, and traffic modeling. Applicants should have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related disciplines (for Postdoctoral Fellow(s)); Or a Master's degree in the abovementioned disciplines with at least four years of relevant work experience in robotics, AI, or traffic modeling (for Research Associate(s)); Or a Bachelor's degree in the abovementioned disciplines (for Research Assistant(s)). For Postdoctoral Fellow(s) / Research Associate(s), the appointee(s) will conduct advanced research and development in below areas: (1) Unmanned Systems: (a) optimising UAV platforms, with a focus on advanced control, navigation, and task planning algorithms; (b) conducting modeling, experimental work, and project demonstrations; and (2) Digital Traffic Platform: (a) developing and optimising macroscopic and microscopic traffic prediction algorithms and integrating them with the UAV system. For Research Assistant(s), the appointee(s) will provide crucial support to the research teams through a variety of tasks, including but not limited to (a) collecting large-scale data, image/video labeling, and managing database; (b) assisting with field tests on drone systems and digital platforms; (c) supporting data analysis, model training, and (d) assisting in system verification for project demonstrations. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years commencing March 2026, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
