Job Description
The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the ECO Lab, focused on advanced sustainable wastewater treatment. The successful candidate will contribute to projects integrating AI-driven process modeling and control, advanced online sensors, adsorption-based treatment, PFAS removal, and greenhouse gas (N₂O and CH₄) emissions reduction strategies. The work will involve experimental research in a state-of-the-art wet laboratory, computational modeling, and collaboration with industry and international partners. The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to publish in high-impact journals, contribute to grant proposals, mentor students, and assist in scaling research outcomes for regional and global applications.

Minimum Qualification

• Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. • Demonstrated research experience in wastewater treatment, biological processes, or advanced water treatment technologies. • Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications. • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualification

• Experience in AI/machine learning applications for environmental systems or process control. • Hands-on experience with laboratory-scale or pilot-scale wastewater treatment experiments. • Hands-on experience with reactor design, set-up, operation, and control. • Familiarity with greenhouse gas emission measurements and mitigation strategies. • Experience with adsorption processes and PFAS treatment. • Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural research teams.
