The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University, seek candidates to apply for the Postdoctoral Research Associate- Smart City Testbed position.

The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop and expand upon a diversified technical skill set while making a positive contribution to the development of Smart City technology and the implementation of the VCU Open Cyber City Testbed (https://www.occtestbed.com/).
Research projects for this position will involve participating and supervising the addition of additional hardware and software systems for the Open Cyber City Testbed, conducting research in Smart City technology and Intelligent Transportation Systems, and applying Machine Learning and data mining and analysis to research problems in this area.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high quality software development, including software for Cyber Physical and Embedded Systems, strong mathematical background in areas such as linear algebra, optimization and probability theory, and a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), and Smart City projects. In this position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with a network of scientists, engineers, and engineering students.
