KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Skilled in analytical instrumentation.
  • Skilled in field work in some capacity.
  • Ability to conduct field work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effective with different groups/individuals.
  • Knowledge of soil trace gas cycling and/or related fields.
  • Skilled in operating and troubleshooting trace gas analyzers, sensors, and/or automated sampling equipment.
  • Ability to analyze time series data (or reasonably learn) using scientific programming tools.
  • Ability to travel to conduct field work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD in required science field with sufficient technical research experience with demonstrated scientific accomplishments including publication of research results in peer-reviewed journals.
Responsibilities
  • Assist to deploy H2 soil flux and profile measurement system at two National Ecological Observatory Network field sites (both domestic, one local).
  • Monitor field instrument performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Lead efforts to gather, analyze, and interpret H2 and sensor data using findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR) principles.
  • Prepare data for analysis by modeling team, collaborate on model-guided interpretation and lead interdisciplinary integration of results for dissemination in manuscripts and presentations.
  • Collaborate with project team including PhD students, researchers, professors, and industry collaborators.
