WE ARE SEEKING A POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW TO JOIN THE QUANTUM AND NANO TECHNOLOGY GROUP (QUANTEG) IN THE SCHOOL OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING, FACULTY OF SCIENCES, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (SET)

This position plays a vital role in developing advanced theoretical tools and models for superconducting quantum materials research, contributing to leading-edge defence-related technologies.
Working under the general direction of the Quantum and Nano Technology Group (QuaNTeG) Senior Lecturer, the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work at the forefront of quantum materials research, collaborating on groundbreaking projects within one of the world’s most advanced sovereign quantum materials design and fabrication facilities. This role offers a rare opportunity to combine theoretical modelling with hands-on implementation and testing, working closely with both academia and industry through partnerships such as the Silanna Group, the BECA Group and REQUIEM Systems. As part of the dynamic and inclusive SET Faculty, the role supports interdisciplinary collaboration and career development in a cutting-edge scientific environment.
The role requires a strong foundation in theoretical quantum materials or condensed matter physics, with a willingness to engage in experimental applications. The successful applicant will also be involved in the design, fabrication and measurement of quantum sensors in the Jesper Munch Quantum Laboratories, conjoined Silanna University quantum facilities one of the most advanced in the country. This position is ideal for a highly motivated early-career researcher seeking to build an impactful career in quantum technology within a world-leading research institution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in Quantum Physics, good knowledge in the Physics of Quantum devices.
