The Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join an ARC-funded Discovery Project led by Professor Brock Bastian, with co-supervision from Dr. Kelly Kirkland at the University of Queensland. This three-year role focuses on social and moral psychology, exploring moralisation, moral amplification, and political polarisation using diverse research methodologies, including large multinational datasets, experience sampling, and lab-based experiments. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative research, collaborate across institutions, and be integrated into the Ethics and Wellbeing research hub.

This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a Working with Children Check The successful candidate can apply for the WWCC as part of the onboarding process. Responsibilities
  • To conduct original research within the context of the research project, independently and in collaboration with others. This includes study planning, supporting data acquisition, data processing, and data analysis.
  • To disseminate research findings through seminars, conference presentations, and publication in peer-reviewed international journals.
  • To participate in activities that strengthen the links between the University and the community.
  • To participate in administrative activities associated with School and Faculty activity, including: attending School and Faculty meetings and participating in School, Faculty and University Committees.
