Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a multidisciplinary research team investigating the global prevalence, trends, determinants, and impacts of HIV-related stigma and discrimination experienced by people living with HIV (PLHIV). This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative, policy-relevant research at the intersection of epidemiology, social sciences, statistics, and global health. Project Overview This project seeks to enhance global understanding of stigma and discrimination experienced by people living with HIV (PLHIV). The postdoctoral fellow will synthesize evidence from diverse sources, analyze international survey data, and contribute to the development of a conceptual framework that captures the multi-level and intersectional nature of stigma. Findings from this work will inform strategies to reduce discrimination and promote equity in HIV care and prevention. Key Responsibilities Design and implement systematic review protocols. Manage and harmonize multi-country survey datasets for comparative analysis. Conceptualize and refine a theoretical framework integrating intersectionality and stigma processes. Develop and code a Bayesian meta-regression to pool and harmonize different data streams. Lead and co-author manuscripts, reports, and presentations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary and international research partners. Qualifications PhD (completed or near completion) in epidemiology, public health, social sciences, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in systematic review or evidence synthesis. Experience with large survey or population datasets is an asset. Familiarity with stigma theory, intersectionality, or HIV-related social determinants of health preferred. Outstanding quantitative skills and in-depth knowledge of Bayesian statistics. Strong writing, conceptual, and collaboration skills. Appointment Details The fellow will be registered at McGill University, under the supervision of Prof. Mathieu Maheu-Giroux, Associate Professor, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, with an initial one-year appointment and potential for renewal.
