Job Description
The Postdoctoral Researcher will play a critical role in advancing the mission of the Food Security Research Center by conducting innovative research on food systems, access, and sustainability. This position involves designing and implementing research projects that address key food security challenges, analyzing data to inform policy and practice, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop impactful solutions. The researcher will also contribute to grant writing, publications, and stakeholder engagement efforts to support the center’s broader objectives.
This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.

Responsibilities:

  • Write up and disseminate findings of research through peer-reviewed presentations and publications.
  • Works with the Food Security Research Team to conduct qualitative research and analyze data.
  • Develops appropriate research tools to carry out mixed methods research regarding food access in rural communities.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis to identify key trends and insights.
  • Participates in all college-wide events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Food, Nutrition or related field.
  • No prior experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Qualitative research skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate well.
  • Knowledge of mixed-methods research techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years’ experience conducting mixed-methods research around food and nutrition.
